So I just finished the main quest of Act 1, and I still have Hugo Montesque following me... I have *not* gone to Olfghard yet to finish his quest line after having proven his innocence. My question is; what's the difference between Montesque and Olfghard? They're mutually exclusive companions, and I don't know if I can find one after I ditch the other. I already found Diabolous pretty late, and he's still playing catch-up in terms of levels (though he definitely works well in combat regardless)...

So, as a primarily ranged/spell casting Inquisitor, is it worth ditching Montesque for Olfghard? Also, if I reject him after asking for him to join, does he vanish completely? I can't seem to find him in Hillbrandt after telling him that justice was my greatest reward, either, so any directions would be helpful.
I think you should stay with Hugo Montesque and not recruit Olfghard. Olfghard is good with long-range attacks (he uses a bow) and so he is the perfect companion when you play as a paladin who mainly uses melee combat.

When you play as a priest or a thief and mainly use spells or long-range attacks, companions like Diabolus or Montesque are a much better choice.
Do not forget as well that Olfghard will charge 500 gold per 100 kills. Not exactly a lot after a while but it could prove problematic in the beginning.
