Has any definite fix for this ever been found? The pistol works fine, but automatic weapons usually crash the game within seconds. Now I got to the pyramid level and it's just been getting worse. Even more weapons started showing the same symptoms, can't use the combat rifle anymore either, and submachine gun crashes consistently on the first shot. Game is fully finishable with just the revolver but it's disappointing I can't use any of the nicer weapons.

You, my friend, are awesome! I played about 20 hours of the Steam version of Infernal Machine last year and loved every minute of it, but firing anything other than the default pistol had a high chance of crashing the game. I tried many fixes to no avail. I've just tried your DSOAL fix... and it worked perfectly! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
