I have two options of where to install this game if I buy it. Win7 with 5870 vid card and 1900x1200 27.5" LCD monitor or Vista with Nvidia 8800GT w/3D Vision and CRT monitor. If it works with 3D Vision I would rather install there and of course it being a CRT monitor any res would look decent but would like at least 1024x768 res supported by IW2.

Why is the forum setting showing 1 reply to this thread when the only post in this thread is my own?

I am running the game in 1280x1024, my LCDs native resolution. The options menu offers a variety of lower resolutions with different aspect ratios down too 640X480, so I guess higher ones should be supported as well
I see in another thread that is uses a glide wrapper so there is no way it will work with 3D Vision. I will install to my Nvidia/CRT setup though so I can use 4:3 aspect ratio with no stretching of pixels. Thanks.
I-War 2 is a native DirectX 7/8 game. It doesn't use a glide wrapper. I don't see why 3D vision wouldn't work unless there's a technical issue preventing it that I'm not aware of.
I'm running Edge of Chaos as 1960x1200, amazing.
IW2:EoC supports pretty much any resolution out of the box.

Word of warning, however-it's V- in terms of widescreen, which means that you LOSE vertical FOV instead of gaining horizontal FOV. (I noticed in cockpit view.) Also, it stretches the FMVs to fill the screen, so they'll look distorted outside of 4:3 resolutions.

As for the first game, it's generally just 640x480 or 800x600, but you're probably going to be using a Glide wrapper that can force a higher resolution anyway. (Perfect pixel-doubling for the 2D elements would mean 1280x960 or 1600x1200.)

here are FOV changes for flux.ini (always make a back-up)

You can select your resolution ingame, but you must adjust the FOV manually for every camera mode. To do this, open the file "flux.ini."

In this file, you will find nine instances of the string "field_of_view," followed by a default value. Here is each instance, the default value, and recommended settings for 16:10 and 16:9 resolutions (rounded to the nearest percentage of a radian):

[icArcadeCamera]
Default = 1.2
16:10 = 1.37
16:9 = 1.48

[icChaseCamera]
Default = 1.2
16:10 = 1.37
16:9 = 1.48

[icConversationCamera]
Default = 1.1
16:10 = 1.27
16:9 = 1.37

[icDollyCamera]
Default = 1.2
16:10 = 1.37
16:9 = 1.48

[icDropCamera]
Default = 1.1
16:10 = 1.27
16:9 = 1.37

[icExternalCamera]
Default = 1.25
16:10 = 1.43
16:9 = 1.54

[icInternalCamera]
Default = 1.1
16:10 = 1.27
16:9 = 1.37

[icTacticalCamera]
Default = 1.2
16:10 = 1.37
16:9 = 1.48

[icTwoShotCamera]
Default = 1.1
16:10 = 1.27
16:9 = 1.37
