Great game, I still own my original disks. In fact, my original disks still install and play on Win XP 32 when patched. The reason I bought this GoG version "updated for modern hardware" is there is an old internal script bug that prevents you from moving past the game mission "Wolf's Lair" when played on modern hardware. GOG has not fixed this problem. There are however other user's save games available online to get you past the bugged mission. So do buy this game if you don't already own it; it is still the VERY best space combat sim. Don't buy this game here if you already own it and are simply trying to get past the "Wolf's Lair" mission bug, it ain't fixed.

Sadly the same is true of the Corporate Holdings Mission problem where modern machine suddenly present you with a sideways view lock-ups and crashes. I did eventually get past it by selecting 256 colours and Win98 in my XP's compatibility settings.
I've created a mod to work around the Wolf's Lair bug, so you can keep your own save games going. It marks the mission as complete.

I've downloaded the 'jpg' version of your mod from here; I put it in the mods directory and enabled it in the extras screen; subsequent launch and dock have not resulted in completion being set and the new email when docking. I tried repacking the zip with the .pkg file archived in the packages subfolder like other mods, no luck either.
Have you managed to host this somewhere else? (though if the zip was corrupt, you think I would get a checksum error).
Any more advice?

The jpg attachment system seems to corrupt the zipfile for some reason. When I get home I'll upload it to my I-War paper model website for download and post the URL here.

Cool; I'll keep checking back every few days or so as time permits.
