Ten years ago I had this game. By editing the target line of the shortcut by placeing -lagrange at the very end, you were able to modify the game so that you could choose lagrange points and fly to any system, even in inifinity war mode. This doesn't seem to work with this GoG version. Has anyone tried this?
I haven't but I had read about a mod that allowed this that I can't seem to find, was this for sure something built into the original game? Would definitely be fun to set the game to allow you to just roam around and get into trouble.
You can still do this, but you need to make a shortcut to the actual game exe to get it to work. GOG added an exe which plays the intro movie, but this exe does not pass on command line parameters to the main game exe.

Thanks for bringing this up. I remembered this too, couldn't find anything about it, and was starting to think I'd gone crazy.
edit: I bumped this because no replies were displayed. Turns out the search filter hides posts. Anyway thanks Ravenger.

gosh I hope I am not too late and this post isn't totally dead.

So it can work, through the normal I-WAR.exe and not the GOG launcher that the shortcuts direct to, BUT, when i set a destination and go through a point, the game CTDs.

I am guessing this is something to do with the voodoo config that the GOG launcher sought to correct. I am thinking of making a .BAT file OR getting a console to work with the GOG launcher to have a functioning set destination button...

is it silly that these memories of bouncing around are why I got the game on GOG?
