So do i have to buy a joystick to be able to play this game and will any one work? I cant find a way to modify key bindings for the keyboard only controls,and it seems that i cant use the mouse to turn my ship like i do in every other game ive played. whats the deal with this is it a bug or an extremely poor design choice? also it doesnt help that the default keyboard only controls are designed for peope with 6 fingers on their right hand

I'm sorry, but which of the two Independence War games do you mean? Besides, I urgently recommend to to use a joystick, as this is the way the games were designed to be played. In fact, you need to use joystick and keyboard in parallel, as there are lots of commands that you can't issue otherwise.

its the second one, i managed to fix it though by modifying the controls manually and i have to say this game is very fun apart from the fact you cant save mid mission which makes things tedious at times, still a fun game but a bitch to modify controls compared to any other game ive played lol
