Hi my name is Max, I´m 16 and i live in Sweden. I´m quite new to "good old" games and PC gaming in general so some pointers in this matter would be appreciated. I want to play the game with a joystick but I don´t know what kind that works. I mean the game is over 10 years old, will any new joystick work? keep in mind that I live in Sweden so all options might not be available for me.

Just about any joystick will work, even xbox 360 controllers. You may have to create a custom controls file for the stick though, but that's not difficult.

I've played through I-War 2 with a mundane Logitech Force 3D Pro and before that I had played it with a MS Sidewinder Precision 2, so my guess is that any usb-joystick will play the game.
Actually a joystick is highly recommended.
I don't remember if I lowered the x-y sensitivity for this game though which is often needed for playing with a joystick.

I've bought a relatively new and complex HOTAS called the G940 which works very well. Should you ever decide to buy one as well, here's a profile I made to use it with IWar2.

So took me a while but i finally ordered a T.Flight Hotas X from Thrustmaster. I´ll receive it in about a week. I´ll spend some time with it and post my experience.

So took me a while but i finally got a T.Flight Hotas X from thrust master. Works great with IWar2. Had some problems at first but nothing that 10 min of trubel shooting and forum reading couldn't solve. Cant recommend it enough.

My own Thrustmaster Flightstick X ( [url=http://www(dot)thrustmaster(dot)com/en_US/products/tflight-stick-x]http://www(dot)thrustmaster(dot)com/en_US/products/tflight-stick-x[/url] ) works like a charm as well, even without any fiddling. While not a full-blown HOTAS, it's still good enough for me, and provides more than enough bang for the buck.
