This may seem like a dumb question, but nothing I do seems to affect the TRI (energy balance) setting. The manual vaguely refers to 'moving the cursor', but no amount of clicking, moving, dragging, or anything using the mouse seems to affect it, unless the control is not in the triangle shown in ENG. The mouse does seem to work for selecting ship systems. No key adjusts it either (the key bindings list NumPad 2 as 'center TRI' but that seems to be the only thing).

This is the original I-War, running on Windows XP, and using a Saitek X52 joystick as well.
With the arrow keys if I recall correctly, if not maybe Shif+arrow or Ctrl+arrow.
I'm assuming the OP is talking about I-War2...

That's one way - Shift-arrow keys - which will max out any one of the three settings, at the expense of the other two (that's the method I use the most). Also, using the top hat switch on the joystick, the player can access the Engineering menu and fine tune the adjustments there. That menu is also accessed using Shift-E. Not certain how how to make adjustments on that screen without a tophat.

Thanks, it was indeed Ctrl-arrow that worked. It's a bit coarse but doesn't go to max immediately. The joystick hat doesn't work on the ENG screen, though, even though it does work elsewhere (like picking NAV targets).
