Well, well, this resource.zip file has all the player ship stats in it.

Looks like I could edit by ships to have extra hitpoints!!!! This is great because it allows me to give my ship a FAIR ammount of hitpoints instead of the "one lick of a Comms Laser and boom" hitpoints it currently has. Thus making the game playable and satisfying, without the spoiling effect that full-on god modes inflict!

So, currently, Im on the "Tug" class ship.

Edited the hitpoints value of BOTH tug.ini and tug_prefitted.ini files from 1000 to 10,000. And I also upped it's maximum assisted thruster speed setting to 950m/s...... I only did that so that I could SEE that my changes HAD TAKEN. If the ship went to 950 then that means the HPs must also now be 10000.

BUT NOOOOOOOO...... The speed still peaks at 850 as always, and one "fart of a ding BOOM DIE" hitpoints still in force.

Changing the files did F-ALL.

So, what am I missing here?

I might have found an answer. Changing your ship loadout seems to make any changes to the ships .ini files come into effect.

For example, you are missing that there is a speed override key that lets you override the regular speed. Use it especially near stations.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the price of fish. The only station I was testing this was near Lucretia's where there is no speed limit. So what you say here is utterly irrelevant! And anyway, those station limits are 250 so again has nothing to do with contrasting top speeds of 850 and 950.

Anyhow I've solved the problem myself!
