I would uninstall it and run a registry cleaner for starters. I assume your using windows XP though?

Hi,
Have you tried the 'usuall' fixes ?
Made sure you have up to date graphics drivers and DirectX files ?
Made sure your AV isn't keeping the game from running ?
Maybe try adjusting sound hardware acceleration ?
If none of that helps, could you post your specs ?

Those are some wierd system specs. Have you tried turning off one of your gpu cores when playing the game? The GTX295 has two on the same card which can mess with some older games. If you go into your nvidia control panel there should be an option in there that allows you to disable one of the gpu cores when running In Cold Blood.
Also have you tried redownloading and reinstalling incase it got corrupt and the installation detection missed it?

960 MB of RAM ? That sounds a bit odd.
I'm guessing you have 1GB (1024 MB).
So, i'm wondering what's using the other 64 MB ?
Have you an integrated graphics card enabled 'eating' those missing 64 MB ?
If you do, maybe you should try to disable it...

thanks guys,
i'm gonna try the following:
1. re-download the game.
2. turn off one of the gpu cores (whatever that means :) i think i'll figure it out in the options)
3. disable the video card.
you know, i just remembered that i tried to run a demo of in cold blood about a year ago on the same computer and i got the very same message. I contributed it then to the fact the demo was fcuked or it wasn't optimized for xp. Perhaps it's just not meant to be... ;)
will get back to you
cheers.

Your card is basically a dual core card just instead of cpu's (central processing units) its got gpu's (graphics processing units). Because old games were made before this technology was about they can sometimes have trouble working out how to use a dual card like your GTX 295.
ok, so i tried to disable the video card. same problem occurred...
i don't think it's in the...ummm... cards...
if only i could return the game for credit :)

Did you disable to entire card or just one of the GPUs on it?
ummm, i disabled the whole thing...
not really clear on how to disable just one of the GPUs...
thanks for being patient!

If you look in your nvidia control panel there should be something in there about multi GPU, Multiple Graphics processing units, something like that with an option to disable it. I don't the card myself just know about that feature otherwise I would beable to provide clearer instructions.
You disabled the GTX295, right ?
How about the integrated graphics card ? Do you in fact have one ? If you do, did you try to disable that one ?
Just for reference, i have In Cold Blood running on Win7 right now, with a GTX295, and i have no problems running the game...
