I just bought the game and decided to play it.

The first thing I had to do was create a new profile for the game, that's when I realized the mouse cursor doesn't move.
Luckily, the mouse itself does move, and the buttons highlight when the mouse hovers over them, so I still managed to create a profile.

Still, the cursor just remains at the center of my screen, never moving at all, so it's hard to guess where the mouse actually is. Does anybody know how to fix this?

I'm on Windows 10, if that's any relevant.

Nevermind, I just found my answer: http://steamcommunity.com/app/324680/discussions/0/490125737458702357/#p2

Basically, I just needed to change "allowhwcursor 1" to "allowhwcursor 0" in the "\Impossible Creatures\Drivers\spdx8_config.txt" file.

Feel free to sticky this for anyone who might have trouble with their mouse cursor not moving.
I had the same problem - thanks for the tip! :)
