hello, this is something that I do not understand. I have the Town Growth technology, 5 dense woods and 4 small woods tiles in my capital province, but no timber is being produced. When I right click the city it says "Town", fortifications etc. The builders cannot upgrade it.
Also, an indian capital is giving me refined sugar because of the 2 x level 2 sugar cane plantations. I think this was going on even before I researched Town Growth.

So, what gives? Is your capital supposed to not give you processed resources or is there some bug?
I am playing on the Dintag Memrys key, Portugal, the southern most province is the one in question. Thank you.

EDIT:
In my current game I have 3(THREE!!) provinces with 4 wood production that don't give me any lumber, oddly enough, one of them gives me bronze because of level 2 tin + level 2 copper mines. seems the problem is with the timber.

EDIT2: I forgot to connect the actual towns, I was looking at the transport situation for the tiles only. damn

Your capital doesn't automatically produce good based on resources in the same province. I think this is by design because your capital has a much more advanced factory system. This is why I always try to place my capital in a province with mostly food.

Resources in your province don't have to be connected to the transport network in order for the town to produce goods as long as the town is connected.

Indian capitals count as town so they can produce goods even if you haven't researched the tech yet. What the tech does is allow you to upgrade.
Every capital province is already 'upgraded' at the start of the game. Whether it's from a Great Power, a Minor Nation, or a Tribe. Even, as mentioned above, if you don't have the tech to upgrade it. You get the town production.

Its true you will never get town production from your own capital. That's the way the game is designed. In a multi-player game, I presume if someone captured your capital, they would get the production.
