When I try running the game first time after the installation is done, I get a prompt about installing a windows feature, but there is nothing I can select. If I skip it, the game doesn't run. What do I have to do to run it?

Might be DirectPlay. Try installing it.

Yeah, restarting my machine made the installer work properly so I could install DirectPlay
