I noticed some of the importable premade characters are more powerful than other as far as how many spells they start with, thief abilities, etc.

Are some of these not meant to be started with basic game? Is it to OP if I take the mage with all the spells already (or at least a lot) compared to the mage with 2 spells?

The famale thief has a ton of better thief skills compared to the male thief.

The male thief is level 1 for starting the OC, The female thief is level 12 for stating with an expansion.
Starting the OC with level 12 characters will Really upset the balance.
So, if they have + next to the class it is a higher level char for importable characters?

I noticed the chars listed at the top have a + next to their names.

Yes, the top ones, with the + are all level 12 & not intended for the original campaign
Well, the expansion importable characters are pretty strong, and have a huge stat points in total (i never got so many points even after eons or rerolling), like that old, white-bearded paladin. But they have a certain weakness... None of their main stats are at a score of 18. Really disappointing. Especially for casters, which means less casting slots and for wizards, failure at scribing spells.
I'm going with the 1st level starter chars like its supposed to be. So far its challenging, but fun. Not impossible. I did put max hp per level on cause I am using just the strait up classes, no multi class, they seem to be fragile enough as it is.
