Hey guys,
I thought I'd ask my question here as the forums seem quite busy and the people seem helpful, so hopefully someone can help me!

I LOVE what GoG.com are doing, re-releasing old games to work on newer OS. I've already bought a few games I used to own and have had lots of fun playing them, it's so awesome!

But recently rummaging through my room I found I still own the "Icewind Dale: The Ultimate Collection" which comes with the original game, the Heart of Winter expansion, IW2 and a load of extra stuff.

So I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to get these disc versions to work on Windows 7? Or will I have to re-buy the GoG.com versions? I understand that it'd probably be easier just to buy and download the GoG.com versions but I thought it would be good to get the disc versions working as I already have them, and it would save me a bit of $$$ as I'm poor ha. I haven't tried them yet, but I thought I'd just shoot out the question to see if anyone else has. Thanks guys

Most of the Old Infinity Engine Games play nice with New Systems - I can install the originals on XP and Vista with no problems. I do not have a Windows 7 box to try but why not just install and see how it goes.
Yeah, I'd suggest just trying the install and see what happens. Install as admin outside Programs and Programs(x86) and run in compatibility mode and you may find you have no issues. Let us know how it goes.

Ok I will give it a go, thanks guys! I just found a bunch of other games as well - Diablo I + II, Starcraft, Planescape: Torment, Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity - so I'll have to give it a try. If I encounter problems I'll let you know, but thanks so far!

Just wanted to confirm that this works, I'm on Windows 7.
Here is another "solution"; the game will start if you install it inside programs(x86) and launch it immediately after install, but if you exit the game you will not be able to run it again unless you reinstall and do the same thing again.
So, put your computer in sleep mode instead of turning it off and finish the game!

Great game btw, I had forgot how good it was and the music and sound are Really good, damn shame that gog cucked themselves with beamdog edition.
