I have a slight problem here.

I have a few old custom sound sets that I used in the original game. I want to use them in the Enhanced Edition, but it seems to be using a completely different naming system (the Baldur's Gate one which has letters at the end of each file). Should I simply rename them on a basis of 1 -> a, 2 -> b, etc.

And I noticed that the sound sets included with the game have a lot less sounds than in the original (about 22 compared to 40).

Can anyone explain to me what's going on?

Thanks in advance.

Hey :)

I have the GOG.com version of Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition and actually managed to get custom soundsets working after a lot of googling and fiddling.

There's a program you can get that you use to add the sets to the game. Basically follow the instructions it gives. I've found it's easier than getting an Infinity Engine editor or something to edit the sounds in.

Here: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/38319/mods-awesome-soundsets-mods-master-thread-custom-soundsets-for-bgee-bg2ee-and-iwdee

The last link is the mod shell and that's what you use if you want to add your own sounds. You will need a .tra file though that contains the script/subtitles. You can just use a basic text editor for this. Just copy the blank.tra provided and edit the copy.

If you have any other questions just ask as I seem to have gotten it working with the example it comes with, Ajantis, at least.

I believe it's from 36 to 18 last time I checked. The voice sets had to be downsized in order to get Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition to run on the Baldur's Gate 2 engine like it does. I've actually been discussing that exact topic with the developers at the Beamdog forums this past week. They're hesitant to expand these back to normal because it'd be an invasive procedure as far as the code is concerned. If you want want them restored, stop by their forum and and chime in.
