I'm really enjoying this game but appear to have hit a wall. I'm in the tower of the severed hand and trying to find machine parts for an astrolab. I found 3 but needed more, so I had to dig out google and get my search on. I found a guide which shows where they are but, on going back to these locations I haven't found any more. So, either I'm having something of a brain-fart now or I've messed this up in some way.

I'm stumped now... the only thing I can think of is could I have sold a part to a merchant by mistake? Other than that, if anyone has any help I would be most grateful.

Thanks in advance for any help.

EDIT - Never mind... it turns out I WAS being thick after all. I had handed over one more part than I realised. It was the lack of a triggering event / cut scene that had me thinking there was more to find. Problem gone! :D

Good to know you sorted the problem. :)

In my several run throughs of IWD, I have never encountered any game breaking bugs in either my CD or GoG versions. In case you didn't know, when you get to Dorn's Deep and have to collect 6 badges, there is one that disappears if left on the ground for too long, I'm pretty sure it's the badge held by the elf woman in the area with a bunch of fire giants (hopefully that wasn't a spoiler). Other than that, I never encountered anything that could break the game.

IWD2 on the other had has two potential game breaking bugs that I can think of. In Dragon's Eye, sometimes the mandrake root doesn't spawn forcing you to use the cheat console. Also in Dragon's Eye, there is a mage in the prisons where I just stuck in a dialog loop with. I could only end the loop by hitting Alt + F4. Other than those two bugs, the game was fine.

Anyways, enjoy the game, IWD is one of my personal faves :)
