I bought this mostly for its soundtrack.

Can we at least have it properly tagged.

And please don't just dump "goodies" like that.

I agree. I just started a topic here yesterday because I'm baffled about the identity of one of the tracks. I'd like to be able to file it away in my music folder properly, but I have no proper idea where and when in the game it plays.
By tag you mean ID3 tag or the filename of the mp3? Because both need changing., and I would argue filename is more important than the tag.

And while you are at it, let me throw another thing that needs fix'n. The archive with the wallpapers in IWD 1 is named:
idewinddale_wallpapers.zip
Fix that damn it! It's a simple rename.

By tag I mean the ID3 tag using UTF-8. After all that is what I see in the player and on the OSD.

Filename is not important for me, and it's better to keep them simple to avoid charset issues with non-ASCII (example diacritics conversion from ISO-xxxx to UTF).
Also, I just noticed some sound glitches on some of the tracks from IWD2 OST as well.
At least tracks 40 and 41.
Well since one can use a program like MP3Tag to automatically and comfortably name files by tags OR write tags from filenames it doesnt really matter what they provide us with as long as provide at least one of them.

but the whole OST in general is in shambles as I discussed here so some basic fixing would be a first step.
Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you know we have a cleaned up version of the OST with, hopefully, better tags. Also included in the track names are the names of the artists who composed the tracks making up the album.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to ensure that the epic soundtrack of Icewind Dale 2 gets the proper treatment :D
I just want to say that I'm extremely impressed that the GOG.com staff has acknowledged and addressed this problem so quickly and gracefully. I'm sadly not used to seeing kind of dedicated response to customer feedback. I'd say you'd gained a customer for life from this, but to be honest, you already had me anyways, heh. But I AM pleased. Good on you guys.

Thank you for the kind words :D

I would like to request a small favor from you and anyone else that reads this thread:

Would you be so kind as to use the Contact Us form to send us feedback anything on the site? While we here at GOG.com do cruise the forums every now and then, we can't possibly find every single issue due to the amount of games and posts in each game's forums. Sending us feedback via the Contact Us link helps out a ton when it comes to things such as soundtracks not being tagged or borked beyond all recognition. If you are worried that your feedback will be lost, well, worry not because we read ALL the emails.

Thank you and enjoy the retagged soundtrack :D
Thank you very much and nice work. I really appreciate it. :)

And a mail concerning the NWN-OST is on its way... :D

You sir, are awesome.
Thank you for fixing this issue.

I have to say I didn't have much faith on this, for two reasons.
The first one being that I typically get zero support when I have a problem with a SW or HW product I buy.
And the second the fact that I have already asked about the GK soundtracks but never got a reply:
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/gabriel_knight_series/where_are_gk1_gk2_and_gk3_soundtracks
I guess that was also the reason I was a bit rough on the first post.

Really happy to see this one fixed.
It pays off being a GOG customer after all.

edit: and I will send an email about the GK soundtracks right now

edit2: and will also send a suggestion for including the soundtrack covers when possible
