So I got all the way to the end scenario in the game and being totally confused about what to do I looked up a walkthrough. The walkthrough states that for the end scenario you first choose Nimdok and you take these steps that lead you to an area where you need a "totem of access", which I do not have. I looked up other people's walkthroughs and it seems like you're suppose to get that totem automatically and the walkthroughs all seem to suggest you already have it in your inventory. So, does anyone know if my game got bugged or if I did something wrong in the game to not get the totem of access for the end scenario? Also, if someone knows of a savegame file that does have the totem of access for the end scenario, maybe I can use that instead if I'm just encountering a glitch.

i havent played for a few years but guessing it might have to do with not finishing nimdok's story correctly. it is easy to end his scenario by passing through the wailing wall without doing a few steps like using the eyes to activate the golem. hope this helps.

You know, I think you're right. I remember using the wall and Nimdok's scenario just ending, which surprised me. I just assumed since the cutscene showing him back in his torture chamber played that it was successfully completed. I didn't realize you could complete a scenario incorrectly. Especially since I successfully completed the other ones and got the totems. Looks like I'll have to start over since I only kept one save! Thanks though.
If I remember correctly, you can finish the game with Nimdock, using tokens on AM's faces and confronting his three incarnations in the end.
You'll need proper tokens to get the best result.
i vaguely remember the issue i had with nimdok. the 'stress meter' or whatever it is was too low when i finished his scenario and so when i turned to a walkthrough for the final scenario his 'strength' was not enough to complete his part properly. please post when you have figured it all out. what a confusing game.

Yeah this game can be confusing at times, which is why saving all the time really helps. Anyways, I found out that I needed to hide the eyes in the jar in a paper box that is in the front area with the 1945 poster. You need to do that to get them to the golem in the next area. Also, you can use the pliers after you use the ether on the stuck prisoner to release him, then give the pliers to the other prisoner. You need to help that prisoner that is stuck because he tells you how to wake the golem. My big mistake was using the "use" command on the wall when I got to the new area and then it just ending the scenario. I don't know how you're suppose to know doing that will end the scenario, but that is why it helps to save a lot.

As for the spirit part, just being kind to people usually raises it, but sometimes some actions lower it without warning.
I had to do Nimdok's scenario several times as there are a number of ways to screw the whole thing up without realizing it, mostly by forgetting a step or doing things out of order. Or because I laughed too hard when Nimdok started his sentences with "I Know Nussing..." in that atrocious Colonel Klink accent he has.

So... if I did not finish one of the scenarios ideally I will not be able to beat the endgame in any other way but eternal suffering for everyone involved? I think I have that situation with Benny for not saving the mother and now I can't activate the pillar/he does not know what to do with his totem.
if I remember right I didn't save the mother either, just the kid.

benny uses the fruit totem (love?) on the holo-projection of his wife in the endgame. the pillar should grow flowers.

I know this is a year later, but this thread really helped me finish this game.

Thanks, fellas.
