F4LL0UT: Well, you be the judge, I think the playlist above should give you a good idea. In my opinion it absolutely is worth the effort, depending on the game it can really change the experience.

Magmarock: Okay I just played some of those tunes through my awesome pare of speakers. Do you have a link to an easy to follow tutorial that shows how to get this working. preferably with GOG games.
Just want to add to F4LLOUT great instructions that you might need to run dosbox and at command prompt type:

mixer /listmidi

and this will give you the midi device number to enter in the game dosbox config file

VirtualMidiSynth has been upgraded to 2.0 and works great with Windows 10, I've found, including all of the Insider builds...!
