I bought the game, installed, and it runs perfectly well on my modest computer. I put in about 2 hours of gameplay and at every chance I've had to save I've tried to and the game doesn't do anything. No data is saved.

I've checked online and this seems to be a well known issue with no one fix. I installed it using Galaxy (not sure that makes any difference since Galaxy doesn't need to be running while the game is running). There's fixes about changing the file path to have no cyrillic characters (not an issue for me), creating your own file path (not sure I could do that without messing up how Galaxy sees the install), running the game in various compatibility modes, and so on. Nothing has worked for me so far.

The most common fix I've read so far is forcing the file path to be: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Idea Factory International, Inc\Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1\ which I haven't tried but with the GOG information in the folder whether downloaded from the site or from Galaxy that won't make a difference, will it?

I'm really bummed I wasted time playing and have to go through the tutorials again at some point. Anyone else run into this issue? Anyone have a fix? I already sent in a report to GOG so if I hear something back that fixes my issue I'll post the solution here.

FIXED!

So I woke up this morning and added more of the games files to my allowed programs in BitDefender 2016, pulled the file into the file path I had to hand make to replicate the solution above, set the .exe AND the shortcut to run as administrator, launched the game from the file folder and NOT Galaxy, and FINALLY got the game to save. I'm not sure what it was that let the game think it was OK to finally save but It's all working now. Feel free to close this, mods.
