Not only is it very powerful, it barely depletes the energy reserves (1 point every 2 seconds or so). And I only have this weap at level 1. Compared to the level 4 basic gun I used before, it clearly is over-powered.

I think you could probably just run an entire level and not let go of the fire button. Even with that I still like to use the lightning gun more. It may have a shorter range but in levels where you need to explode the secondary orb it's much faster. Each weapon seems to have a few levels where it is clearly the best to use.

Hmm.. the basic gun on higher levels shots an arc, so it's not that useless.

The laser is also balanced by the fact that it doesn't seem so suitable to be used as a turret, because it takes so long to charge to full power (on higher levels at least). I only just used the laser in a level after the drilling laser boss.

Ultimately the laser and the energy gun seem to be very similar, though, which maybe is not so nice. Energy gun has that arc shot at one level, but after that the arc gets taken away leaving it with nothing really... It also uses energy a lot, or at least I seem to be out of energy all the time with energy gun.
