It's not really a giant deal, but occasionally on levels i'll keep getting these slowdowns with around a few seconds worth of lag - it stutters briefly and then my dude lurches forward (if i'm moving), sometimes this happens very frequently, sometimes very infrequently. Usually it's a pretty small slowdown, but every once and a while it lasts a lot longer, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it happens. I can play through a level 10 times it it will happen repeatedly maybe half of those times.

Anyway, not a game breaker or anything, but it is irritating, especially when a dog eats my throat out while it's happening... Is anyone else having this issue?

If you're running Vista or newer, right click on your HL: Miami shortcut, go to 'Compatibility', and tick 'Disable desktop composition'. You'll get a nice smooth frame rate, but probably some tearing in its place.

Cool, thank you! I'll give it a shot and see if it fixes it.

It worked! There is a little screen tearing now, but that's far far preferable in my book. Thanks a ton; I owe you a beer or something!
No probs, glad it worked for you too :)
