Up until recently, I never had a problem with the GOG client (or GOG downloader) and downloading games. However after dealing w/ several issues when installing Pillars of Eternity, I seem to have a problem whenever buying and installing games through GOG. This time it's Hotline Miami, though it appears to install just fine. However, when launching the title an error message flashes titled "HotlineGL.exe - System Error".

It goes on to say, "the program can't start because OpenAL322.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times yet the problem still persists. I'm not incredibly tech savvy, so I would really appreciate any help that anyone can offer. There's a pic of the error message attached.

Thanks!

I know this answer is terribly late, but just in case...

Maybe nobody was answering because there are other threads about this problem in the subforum. Have a look at this one: https://www.gog.com/forum/hotline_miami_series/openal32dll_missing_cant_launch_the_game_101
Running it on Ubuntu 14+ doesn't work by default, because libudev.so.0 is missing.
To resolve this problem you can link the libudev.1 to libudev.so.0 with the following command in a Terminal:

sudo ln -s /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libudev.so.1 /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libudev.so.0
