Is there an easy mode? Cheat or anything?

The game is nice, really has potential, but I can't enjoy it because I lack the minimum requirement of dexterity skill to play it.

Basically it boils down to luck and if I'm interested in a luck based past time I rather try Black Jack.
I just saw -- and replied to -- your post on the Völgarr subforum and I'm wondering whether you're trying to troll us or not...

Why would you buy two games that are known for being remarkably brutal in their difficulty if that's not what you're looking for? I mean, I'm not a pro at these games like so many other gamers seem to be, I find both Hotline Miami games and Völgarr The Viking to be way out of my league, in terms of what they require of me regarding dexterity and reflexes, I lack most of it, and when I watched JudasIscariot play HM2 on twitch the other day I just felt bad for being as bad at the games as I am, but here's the thing: when I bought Völgarr and the Hotline Miami titles, I *knew* what I was getting myself into, and I love all these games for what they are, including being insanely hard.

This is the age of the internet, if you had browsed a bit more about the games you'd have known they're all advertised as being brutally difficult; in fact, as far as Völgarr is concerned, that's *THE* game's selling point, it was developed with that sort of old school gameplay design in mind, and it was never marketed as a casual side scroller with pixel graphics.

Like I said to you before, it's not the games' fault, it seems to me you're the one to blame for buying games that are well known for being hard when that's clearly not what you're interested in. And, again, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, just maybe you should stop buying difficult games, if they're not exactly up your alley.

Simple:

I want to like Hotline Miami.
The setting is something I like to explore and enjoy.
But sadly I can't, because I lack the skills.
What's the definition of "remarkly brutal", chess is remarkably brutal when played against Kasparov.

Ever heard that you can get better at doing something, maybe?

It can go two ways when you want to learn something:
You either feel nice because you pass the challenge eventually or you will be getting frustrated because you will get the feeling you will never being able to get it.

So I asked, and I will ask again:
Is there a cheat code? Because I tried and tried and tried and didn't pass the challenge and I'm getting frustrated.

If you really want to blame me for trying the game (because I really love everything except the difficulty about it) I do pity you.
I'm not going to make anyone's experience less of an achievement, I just want to have fun at that game too.
If that is too much to ask I'm really sorry but since this kindergarten of people don't like to share their toys with someone like me I never will enjoy these games properly.
Well, in short, then: there are no cheat codes or options to lower the difficulty. It is possible - entirely so - to overcome the difficulty of the game by trial and error, you eventually do become good at it. But there's no difficulty slider, what you see is what you get.

Sorry if I came across as some elitist bastard, you're absolutely entitled to like whatever game you choose to, all I tried to say is that you seem to struggle with games that require a lot of dexterity and are relentless in their high-octane action gameplay and maybe you should think about whether these are the right games for you or not. If you think they'd benefit from a difficulty selection, then maybe you aren't playing the right games for you. There's no shame in that, I love watching people play strategy games, for instance, but I don't play them myself because I'm just not good at it.
Don't give up too fast.

I spent several hours being frustrated about this game until suddenly I got the hang of hit and breezed through the levels. Somehow you need the special controls to get into your muscle memory.
