I just installed Hotline Miami 2 on my 32 bit XP machine and noticed it came up with a "not a 32 bit application" error so I checked the system requirements and noticed XP isn't listed any more. I could have sworn it was when I preordered it last week and quite a few sites still list it as xp/vista/7/8, although it might be a case of GOG only providing a 64 bit version of the game like they did with the comic.

Either way I'm planning to finally build a 64 bit machine later this year so its not a real problem for me but still i'd like to know if anyone else has encountered this.

Looks it. I grabbed HLM2 off Humble Store (DRM-free + Steam key) just now. Downloading it as I type this. Figured I'd grab it before the "save the world" @$$h0les push for more censorship.

The system requirements for HLM2 have gone up on EVERY site. Humble Store (DRM-free + Steam key), where I bought it, has it at 'Vista+ with 2.4GHz dual core CPU...'. Steam? Same thing. Alotta people are gonna be threw with Dennation over this.

Thanks for the info, I thought something was off since I always read the requirements very carefully these days and was sure they were different when I ordered them. Even with the increased specs I cant see why it wouldn't run on xp since it isn't using DX10 or anything like that. It's likely to be the same issue as the comic where they distributed the wrong compiled version or something. I might contact support later to see what's going on.
I am really not a fan of this trend of indie games with early-90s pixel graphics having mid-2000s system requirements. I don't expect them to actually make it run on win95 and a pentium or anything but having a 64-bit executable when the entire game is under 1 gig is a little nuts.
