I just installed Hotline Miami, and tried the Updated version of the game. But at the end of the first level, the game crashed with a "has stopped working" error. I've tried the Original version and it works fine.
In the error details appears something called "MSVCR100.dll", but I already installed the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package. I'm using Windows 7 (64 bits).
Any idea what causes this problem?

Thank you.

I'm having the exact same problem. Would really like to know what to do.
I have encountered the same exact problem. I managed to bypass it by playing the game in Window Mode.

It seemed doing two things helped me. I found both mentioned elsewhere online. First, setting the resolution to 1280 x 768 (apparently one of the devs suggested this was the optimal resolution). Second, find "HotlineMiami_Original.exe" in the folder where you have it installed. Right click it then selected the "Security" tab. Edit the permissions to set everything to "full control". After that, I've had a lot fewer problems with crashing.
