I gave up on trying to play this shooter and having to climb all the time. I simply resorted to watching a game playthrough. But that is rather annoying also: the player keeps making annoying personal comments about the game. He just will not shut up. Also, he recorded his playthrough segments while online and his followers would make comments and he would carry on conversations with them. What could be worse?: trying to play the game myself or watching a playthrough with annoying commentary and others breaking in?

That does sound annoying. I'm on my 74th hour so far and really loving it, so my vote would be to play the game yourself. If the gameplay isn't your cup of tea, I suppose you could always look for another playthrough without any commentary as well.

You should try to look at this walkthrough on Youtube:

There is not comments and it shows the full game with all the side quests, with about 90 segments!
Why would you watch a playthrough? If you find it interesting, play it yourself. Christ almighty, gamers these days. They're lazier than ever.

Exactly fills the bill. I've been through the game twice and several parts in between.

Before you get on your soap box, consider that I supported the game from the beginning when it was developed and I got my Steam key when it was released ... BUT, I could not play the game because my computer was not powerful enough and you cannot play at 5-10 fps! SO, i did watch some of the play bthrough!

I upgraded my PC earlier this year and bought the GOG version to play (I hate DRM!) My new system:

CPU: Intel COre I9 10900KF
RAM: 32 GB of DDR4 4000
GPU: Asus nVidia GTX 1070 ti, waiting to be able to by either an RTX 2080ti or RTX 3080+ when they become available in Canada!

No need to make excuses for yourself to spud. Gaming walkthroughs and the people who watch them are a multi million dollar a year business.

There's obviously a market for people wanting to watch a walkthrough or segments of a game on either twitch or youtube. There has been for years. Even if you're just watching a 20 minute cliip of gameplay footage, it's often easier to do so on youtube than to find a review with actual, non doctored, footage from a major media outlet.

Again, no need to make excuses. Entertainment is necessary in modern times, despite what some people think.

Just a follow up, why did you chose to stop playing the game?

I do agree that the traversal can be janky at times (played on PS4 so it wasnt a hardware issue) and combat is not a “shooter” like CoD where you shoot to kill enemies but more you shoot to break down parts and weaken enemies like Monster Hunter.

Your arrows dont do much damage so you want to use them to target areas weak to tear. When a part falls off or breaks, the enemy gets huge damage and can also lose some attack options. Your dps comes from the bombs combined with status effects like freeze for maximum damage.
