There are so many video options in this game and I have no idea what some of them do or what performance impact they will have.

I notice in the choices that there is sometimes a green selection bar whilst the rest are blue, is this just average selections or the software assessing my set up and providing recommended settings?

My specs are Win 7 64 bit - Intel Quad core 2.83Gz - 8Gig ram - Nvidia 2Gig GeForce GTX 660

Is anyone able to provide me with some guidance please?

The colors basically represent how much of a strain will those settings have on the performance of the game. The impact on the game's performance becomes higher as you move from the color blue to orange.

Tips: If you happen to experience some FPS drops during missions that demand you to engage your fleet into battle within dust clouds, one way to get rid of those FPS drops is by heading over to the NVIDIA Control Panel, scroll over to the game's file location, and finally look for the setting which says "Maximum Pre-rendered Frames". Now, make the value for that setting as high as possible. Maybe not that high, but the higher the value, the smoother the gameplay will be for you. (for me, I set it to 4)

If you're confused on which file in the Homeworld Remastered folder should you apply the setting for, one simple method is by downloading NVIDIA Inspector (it's free) and increase the Maximum Pre-rendered Frames from there.

Sorry for the late response ^.^" In fact, I'm also still new to the game.

Thanks that was helpful however, since then I have replaced my PC the new one is a bit of a beast so I'm sure I will be able to run everything at max settings on this rig
