From what I heared, before the newest patch classic versions were... broken. And after it... it seems they still are, but in different order.

What about GOG version? My PC is quite weak, and I also heared rather negative opinions about remastered versions, so my main point of interest were the classic versions, but if they are no better, then I will, probably, have to give up on them...

The Classic versions were not "broken", they just excluded the Multiplayer aspect, though a few (rare) bugs were encountered by a very small number of people: if the Classic versions were broken, then there would be far more complaints on the GBX forums and they would have been patched since then.
Depends what 'rare' is for you. My friend bought the game on Steam and there were unplayable. He didn't check the newest patch as of yet, but the said GBX forums, iirc, said that the 'order of broken' changed thanks to this patch.

He checked if this was something entirely with the game, but the... less legal version he used for comparision didn't had any problems. At all.

Many negative opinions about Remaster are quite outdated by now. You'll have it installed anyway, give it a try ;-)

Which OS is he using?

Like I said - only interested in classics. And I don't have it... yet. :)

Oh my point was that the installer of Homeworld Remastered will install both remasters and classics on your disc, so you'll have the remasters anyway if you decide to buy this edition. Might as well give them a whirl - or not, if you're certain you won't like them I suppose.

If he was using XP it would make sense that the older games would work fine while versions in the Classic edition optimized for modern Operating Systems wouldn't. It's weird with Win7 tho

Ah, I get it now. Well... not interested, just 'probably won't work because of specs'. :)
