Hitman 2 steam version = 1.02

Hitman 2 GOG version = 1.01

Why?
Maybe Steamification update? That is just a guess though.

The steam version has the latest patch (1.02) which censors some levels in in the game (the one set in India) it changes some symbols and removes a briefing audio and some dialogue lines including a line said by agent Smith where he called some assassins send after him "towelheads"

Apparently it was deemed offensive by some and they had to release a patch to "fix" this.

The gog version doesn't have that patch, its uncensored, that's why the game shows (1.01), nothing was removed.

Patch 1.02 doesn't include any bugfixes, so the steam version isn't better in any way.

Hopefully i explained it well.

That is awesome! Thanks for explaining.
People really need to grow some balls and stop calling for censorship. The video game industry and community went to the supreme court a few years ago to fight this sort of crap. Did everybody really forget this?
