I just bought the game and went through tutorial.

I didn't not login with IOI account (I don't have one and not going to create one)
What exactly am I missing?

So far I found out that saves created offline would sent you game offline, once loaded. What else?

I want to understand, to decide if I want to request a refund, or if I just can play game in offline mode.

All the reviews on the Game page are virtually 1 star because the games uses always online DRM. If you play single player and offline, you will essentially be playing a demo because most of the games features can only be accessed if your online. So single player offline is DRM free but crippled and not worth the purchase price for me at least.

GOG have helpfully said you can refund if you're not happy with online DRM.

You should seriously read around the discissions to get a better idea of what you bought and what it means to GoG's future policy on DRM.

The game is meant to be played over and over again, finding new ways and tricks all the time. To make this more fun, you get new gear, new suits or even new starting positions so that you do not have to start the level from zero but can already be hidden as a waiter or something.

ALL of this is not possible offline.

You can only polay levels from zero, no unlocks, noc gear, no nothing.

So no progression, except for just opening new missions?

I can live without cosmetics and understand why multiplier staff can be locked, but this sound like it locks most of the player instruments.

Yes.

It is not about cosmetics, it's about how to keep you entertained in a game that is based on repetition. It really does not work well without all that.

No hate, I truly love this game, I've 100%ed H1, H2 and then bought all three on another platform and completed them all again. They are awesome. But do not buy them here, really don't.

Well, that sounds like refund for me, thanks.

Will hope they will remove the online at some point.

Used to own EGS version of this game.
Even in full 'airplane mode' (i. e. no Internet connection, singleplayer, no logins performed) it really annoyed me with 'OMG NO INTERNETS HOW CAN I LEAK YOUR DATA TO DEVS?!' pop-ups.

Each.
*beep*ing.
Minute.

So if you were born under same star as me, you'll be missing playability in offline mode.

This is why I havent bought the game at all by now.
I remember being disgusted by the online gameplay modell and havent bought any hitman since absolution.
