When trying to run the game I get error message: "Asset loading failed: [file_open,data/flixel.pkg]" and the game closes.

This happens always, never managed to run it properly.

Thanks for assist.

Hi there.
Could you share some more details on that?
Best would be starting, if you have tried repairing the installation via the Galaxy Launcher and/or reinstalling?
What about your basic system specs (OS, CPU, GPU and RAM) to get this sorted properly?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I tried both repairing the installation and reinstalling through Galaxy Launcher, as well as installing through the offline installer, it's always the same.

I am running Windows 10 Home, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3350P, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660, 8GB RAM.

Cheers,
Hi Rukasu,

thanks for the provided information. We have some guesses on what could be the reason; maybe you can help us rule out or confirm two of them:

- In your installation folder of Highrisers, in the subfolder /data/, is there a file named flixel.pkg?
- Do you have a antivirus software running? If yes, could yout try turining it off and try again?

Best regards,

The team of Solar Powered Games
Hi there,
have you tried running the GoG Installer/Galaxy Launcher as Administrator before installing and running the game, after it is installed as administrator, also as an adminstrator?
As sometimes the Windows User Account Settings might prevent the game from properly installing, when not the respective administrative rights are set in advance.
In Steam, another user with the similar issue could get this sorted by simply running all respective applications as administrator to get this sorted and fixed.

Hey,

we've found out that this issue is connected to access management.
Please try starting Highrisers with Administrator priviledges (Right click on Highrisers -> Start as Administrator)

This should fix the issue.

Happy surviving!

I don't have that issue but running the game as admin is definitely no proper fix. You really should look into this.

Also, where are these two patches for the GOG version?
