I have had multiple campaign save files for both HoMM1+2 just randomly disappear on me. They are not in the save file folder or on the computer at all anymore. Has anyone else had this issue of saves being deleted? Could it have something to do with DosBox?

I didn't experience this, nor have I heard about it, but I doubt that DOSBox has something to do with it.
The best you can do is to copy saved games to another directory.
Can't back them up now because they are gone... :(
Is there a place where you can download the save files that are made after beating the levels in a campaign? I was almost done with all of the Prince of Loyalty campaigns.... bloody hell!
did you check this location ?
c:\users\your username\data or localdata\virtual store\program files\gog.com
Wow they are were in the Virtual Store folder. Its really strange that they aren't with the normal program files, or that they even show up when I play the game, but then again, it's Vista.
Thank you so much, you saved me hours of waiting turns!

Well all my HOMM2 save games just disappeared. They are in the virtual folder as described, but they do not show up in-game. I have no idea why. They were there yesterday, and today they're gone.
[EDIT] I've looked at the properties for both the HOMM2 folder itself and the GAMES folder within it, and I can't find anything that points to the virtual store folder. Does anyone know where this connection is configured?

Unsure on how they are connected or even why the Virtual folder is used, but I was able to use my saved games again once I copy/pasted them back to the original directory.

[Thanks for the excellent solution. Found them in the virtual store location. Realized my search utility could not find them until I had it look for hidden or system files.
