I read a lot of different fixes on the cd music for Heroes 2. I have already fixed the prebuffer rate from 10 to 100. And one dos box forum suggested setting cycles to fixed 50,000.

Both fixes help a little with CD music, but not perfectly.

I have the original Heroes 2 CD and wanted to see if there was a way to configure dosbox to read the music off the disc rather than the ogg files provided by gog.

Has anybody tried this and does it improve sound quality?

I'm starting to get use to the pops and scratches anyway, so if not, no big deal
