Just wanted to tip everyone that there's first release of port of VCMI project for Android

App Market: https://market.android.com/details?id=eu.vcmi
Review: http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/06/14/heroes-of-might-and-magic-3-comes-to-android-insert-extreme-excitement-here

VCMI is complete rewrite of HOMM3 executable to run on different systems and resolutions. It is still in development and *not completed*. Campaigns and AI isn't working (can play hotseat).
First and current release is more of a test than playable game and until VCMI gets completed don't expect full product. It requires HOMM3 complete or SoD, GoG.com version recommended!

Good phone is recommended: high resoultion, large screen, fast cpu and min 256mb ram

Support VCMI: http://forum.vcmi.eu/portal.php
Support Pelya: download his apps and rate 5 stars

That is some of the best news I could ever hear. Thanks!
at this moment app was taken down due to unable to run on some devices (runs on android emulator), apparently there's fix but not released yet, expect release on android market again somewhere this or early next week

Ya it didn't run for me so I am glad they are aware and already fixing it.
I dont want to be a jerk but is this legal in any way shape or form?

it is, VCMI is open source(?) project that requires HOMM3 files, it's like 'new door' to the same house without touching previous doors or any house contents, they just trying to write EXE application that will be using HOMM3 files to run and do the same (or even more such as code portability to other systems, different resolutions, in-game tweaks etc) as original EXE application. I could even compare it to Dosbox but in this case it's for one game only. Similar goes with many other open source projects, as long as they are not distributing any part of the game it's not illegal.
sorry for double post but the app is back online. I can confirm it starts, bit uncomfortable to play on my small screen (Nexus One, 3.8in screen, best will go with tablets 8/10in+), still crashes from time to time but hope to see it better in future.

please don't rate it bad, it's early release in it would only discourage
if game crashes use aLogcat to provide some info to the author

Wow this is still around and works. Sadly only seems available through Google Play though. I have 2 Android devices a 4" Samsung Smartphone and a 7" Tablet (cheapy that won't support the google play store).

It really is kind of stupid that you cannot actually Download the Google Play Store app itself. It has to come pre installed on specific devices believe it or not.
