Hello,

Im not too familiar with Homm3 maps, and me and my friends plan to play multiplayer this sunday.

So my question is should we use random map or do you have any balanced map suggestions, there are about 5 of us playing.

The RMG doesn't have a good reputation. There's this known bug where some bonus resources are generated with its guardian misplaced in such a way that it's possible to get the bonus without fighing the guards (this is corrected, among other bugs, by installing the unofficial HotA expansion, and probably WoG as well, but you can't install both expansions on the same game, you have to choose one). If balance is an issue for you, then according to some players it's another reason not to use it.

I like randomness very much, but considering the large number of stock single scenario maps (plus the insane number of fan made ones), I never felt the need to use the RMG. But since I mostly play alone, I'm not the one that should recommend a map in particular with multiplayer in mind...

Maybe this can help you make a choice :

1) The two slash-separated numbers before a map name are first the total number of players, and second the maximum number of human players. Hence 8/6 means 8 players including 6 human players at most. The non human controlled players will be controlled by the computer.
2) If you right click where friend's and ennemies' flags are, you will be shown the team alignment for the currently selected map. It's fixed per map and cannot be changed, unless you use the map editor of course.
