Hello fellow Debian users, Ubuntu lovers and Mint freaks!

Here you’ll find scripts allowing you to build .deb packages from your Windows installers for Heroes of Might and Magic games. You can install them through DPKG and remove them through any APT front-end (apt-get, aptitude, synaptic, etc.).

Download links and usage instructions can be found on the following pages:
Heroes of Might and Magic
Heroes of Might and Magic II
Heroes of Might and Magic III
Heroes of Might and Magic IV
Heroes of Might and Magic V

I hope you’ll enjoy the comfort provided by these scripts as much as I enjoy writing and tweaking them ;)

Here you go for more supported games!

Hello. First of all, I want to thank you again for all the effort, its greatly appreciated.

But I want to make you a question. Did you keep in mind the problems with multicore processors Heroes III have? If not, you could change a bit the script to solve that, which can be done with taskset command.

I’m not aware of any problem with HoMM3 on multicore CPU, can you give me a bit more info about this?
It crashes randomly in machines with multicore processors. The problem can be solved setting single core affinity as described here (for windows): https://www.gog.com/support/heroes_of_might_and_magic_3_complete_edition/frequent_crashes

For Linux, it's the same (setting single core affinity) but using a different command (taskset).

I’ve never seen such crash with WINE, even during long games, but I’ll try to think about a way to provide an option for this.
I did experienced this myself as other people in this forum. It's kind of random. Sometimes I played 2 or 3 hours without any crash, but other times it crashed twice in less than an hour.
