I remember playing HoMM4 in hot seat, which is an option I cannot find in the GOG version.
Am I being stupid or is that really missing?

Afair you have to select a single scenario and change CPU into a normal player.

The game is not as popular to have an active modding community, so nope. Only three resolutions available: 800, 1024, 1280.
