Mondkalb: You need at least two skill-levels.
When you say two skill levels, do you mean I have to be advanced, or are 2 basics enough? If 2 basics are enough, why is this guy not an archmage?

EDIT:
OK, I googled a bit, and you do need advanced it seems.

OK, something doesn't seem right. Basic Nobility + Basic Estates are enough to give a hero Lord Commander class, yet Basic Order Magic + Basic Enchantment are not enough to make a hero an Archmage (see attachment in previous post). Why?

I'm not really sure. You might need to add one extra level of Order to Proetho? An extra order would bring the order and nature skills into equilibrium, which might trigger Archmage.

Alternatively, how did Proetho get the skills necessary? Maybe he needs to get some xp and/or gain a level to trigger the class change check.
So after a bit of experimenting it seems you need 1 level for a basic hero class, 2 levels for an "advanced" class and 3 levels for the archmage class.
