Hello!

I've recently installed HoMM4 and I'm having an issue. I'm using Windows 7, 64bit.

My issue, which really makes it unplayable, is that I after about 30 seconds of starting a new game, or loading one, starts to get heavy graphical lag. It's to a point where it would not be fun to play at all. If I turn off all animations, it seems to work alright, but it should hardly be an issue of my machine not being able to run it (GTX 570). I've tried a few things, and I've had 2 times where I was able to play, but every time I reverse whatever I did, the lag doesn't come back. So it seems more random then I thought at first.

Thanks in advance.
You should drop ingame resolution to 1024x768 to avoid this. This is a known problem with some animations while playing in 1280x1024.

Thank you, I will try this the next time it happens :)
I have the exact same issue. Windows 7, 64-bit. However, running the game in a virtualbox machine, Windows XP 32-bits, has the exact same issue.
Turning off animations does not solve it entirely but makes it work far better.

Dropping the resolution did not solve, or even mitigate, the issue at all I'm afraid.

I'm currently having the same issue with a 290. Massive framerate lag that freezes up my screen. If I find a solution I'll post it here.
