Hi.
Bought HOMM4 complete, installed it, and now it requires administrator rights for every launch. I've got several users on the computer and none of them have admin rights for security reasons. Is there a way to launch the game with simple user rights? Or am I the only one with such problem?
HOMM3 launches well for any user, no admin rights required. Tried both on Win7pro and Win10pro - same effect.
Any suggestions?

Generally speaking, games from this era need to be able to write to the registry and sometimes to user-specific documents folders. That can't be done efficiently without administrator rights.

yes - for first launch. If game keep asking admin...

I hope pejbox install both GOG Galaxy and game itself to folders like X:\Games\GOG\Galaxy and X:\Games(\GOG\)\HeroesMM4\.

Yes, both homm3 and homm4 are installed to their default folders. I am not using Galaxy app, but that can not be an issue.
Yes, I do understand, that games need access to specific files and folders on the hard drive. However, homm3 launches without any problems with usual user rights, and homm4 still asks for admin rights every time I try to launch it, even after being launched with admin privileges for the first time.
I really do not want to expand rights to users on that computer. Oh, well. It's either security or fun, then, I guess. What a pity.

I don't think I had this problem from HoMM4. However, I installed it from DVD, not the GOG version.

Is the GOG versin actually set up to run them as admin? When you right click on the executable and go to Properties, is "run as admin" selected?

try also uncheck other boxes if they enabled
And than try to start directly from heroes4.exe

No, nothing helps. No boxes checked and heroes4.exe is set to start with admin privileges by default, both Win7 and Win10.

Благодарю. Игрался с разными параметрами, в том числе присваивал "владельца" пользователю и прочие продвинутые параметры безопасности ковырял - всё безуспешно. "Герои" хотят админских прав, как ни крути.

Windows fault.

У меня так было с Warhammer 40k DoW+WA. Скопировал уже установленную на комп с ограниченной учеткой через флещ. Все ок должно было быть - проверял дома с компа на комп (стараюсь ставить игры на одном токо компе). А вот на чужом компе казенном WinterAssault.exe работал, а DOW.exe не мог получить доступ к какой системной библиотеке из-за отсутствия прав.
