Im currently in 6 compaign (Unholy Alliance). In one of four missions (Final Peace) where I should start with heroes Gem and Clancy I get Clancy and... random hero instead of Gem (look at attached screenshot). This hero has stats of Gem and when he dies I fail this mission. I'm playing this expansion 2nd time and never had such a bug.

That's not important I think... important thing is that hero is wrong.
I finished this campaign, and in the next I had Gem... on 3 lvl without skills, lol!
For the first time in history of my playing in HOMM3 I was forced to use nwcneo cheat :)

I was asking because I was wondering if Gem was there. With some players, we never know.

I know this is a little late, given this was posted in 2009, but in case you were wondering, I duplicated the bug, and it involves purchasing Gem as a hero in the previous mission as a character. If you do that, you mess up the memory of the campaign and you won't get Gem until the mission where everybody gets together, and they'll have the same stats they had when you finished that mission.

So you need to either not hire them. It might be possible to just dismiss them before you complete the map though, not sure.

I too got this bug. Thanks to sciencemile's post I went back to the previous scenario, dismissed Gem, and replayed out the final turn.

Worked like a charm.

Started up the next scenario and Gem was in her rightful place.

I'm also getting this bug, but I didn't hire Gem or have her on my team at any point during the previous scenario.

Can you try dismissing your heroes from previous scenario, just in case? Those whom you can. Won't hurt to check.

I just missed all of the heroes who weren't Gelu. Gem was still missing in the following map. A small portion of the map is revealed in the northwest corner, but it's mostly of forest.

This happened to me, but I deleted all my saved games from the last campaign (and I definitely remember having Gem at the end of the last scenario). So 2 questions, anyone know if you finish the campaign without Gem does it still work? Can I restore or find deleted saves? I deleted them in game in the load menu. I can't find any campaign saves , not even new ones.
