CSampson: How would I do that? Also, I tried to run in window mode by adding "-win" but it wouldn't comply.

Thiev: You need to change registry value. In registry editor go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\New World Computing\Heroes of Might and Magic III\1.0
and change 'First Time' and 'Show Intro' keys both to 0
(If you have x64 OS it's ...Software\WOW6432Node\New World Computing\...)

Didn't work...thanks anyways :(.Also switched it to window mode via registry but no dice either.

To be on the safe side, try disabling sound as well. Other than that - well, I don't own netbook so I cannot help more.

Yea no go. If I got HOMM2 I wonder if I would have the same problem...

I have the same problem as you, and it's a shame since I bought the game and all.
I would be happy if someone got an solution on this problem. I also mailed the support but no answer yet.

hrm. all HOMM games run fine on my acer aspire one netbook with XP and 2 gigs of RAM..
do you have any virtual CD software that emulates having a CD drive?
i'm grasping at straws here a little, but i remember Might and Magic 6 having issues when trying to run on a netbook with no CD drives. music would not play.. installing something like alcohol or powerISO and creating a virtual CD drive before running the game solved the problem there.. i'm not sure it'll help in this case, but it couldn't hurt to try?

So I fixed it! I found that magical tick box. It was there all along.
I made a little guide so that someone with the same problem could get some help. I can't guarantee it will look the same on other netbooks then mine. But probably it will, I guess.
The pictures are in swedish but I wrote in english beneath them. I really hope this will help.
