Lasharus: While I have a great deal of respect for the Heroes franchise, if they smack their DRM on it, I simply will not buy it. Ubisoft can get stuffed.

As a mate of mine said (Note: This is not me advocating piracy, but he has a point):

"It's amusing. Legit players have to be online permanently. Pirates only have to be once."

It's come to something when the legitimate gamers actually have an INFERIOR product thanks to the bloody DRM bollocks.

As ever: Yay GoG :)
DRM isn't even the biggest concern here

The problem here is that the Studio who worked on and made the very well done V wanted nothing to do with VI because of the way Ubisoft wanted to take this franchise and "casualise" it

Not To mention that Nival interactive wanted to make VI more interesting and bring back many elements from III that made the series truly great

I'm so pissed with ubisoft when I realise what might happen with this series soon...

That's... not exactly good news, I'll grant you. I do hope that it turns out to be a good game, but this news hasn't exactly raised my hopes for the game. Thanks for the info though, it's always good to be a bit more up to date.

you are welcome

Of course being a massive HOMM fan I always hope for the best but evening that I have seen so far...doesn't exactly instill enthusiasm for this upcoming game, if you know what I mean
@Ambient_orange

Wait, only two resources besides gold?
Where did you get this? I remember it being four.
EDIT: Even the main site says four, where are you getting this?

Four resources:
gold, wood, ore and crystals.
I really don't know why the developpers want to casualise all the games they touch.
When I was young, I was really happy to play "hard" games because it was rewarding to finish those games. That's why a lot of my favorite games where "hard games" : Heroes oMM, the F-Zero serie, Civilization ...

And now, when I play a "casualized" version of some games, I didn't get as fun as the old versions of those games. I don't really like Civilization V for example. I really hope that some developpers will continue to create "hard" games... And it's the same for my friends ! I presented Civilization V for a friend of mine who is a newbie on that game. Then we played Cilivization IV and even if he is not an "hardcore gamer" at all, he prefer the "not casualized" version of the game... If even the newbies prefer the "hard" version, I really don't see the utility of casualising a game ???

Meh, it just looks like an extremely dumbed down version of Heroes of Might and Magic III. I see no reason to blow up to $100 on a game that's likely to be inferior to a prequel that's almost ten years its junior.

Casualisation = exposing the series to more potential buyers, while giving a finger to "hardcore" fans (most of the time it ends so).
