It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi! I just purchased heroes V for myself and my girlfriend yesterday and we are trying to play the game online. Now, I go to the online option and it prompts me for an online code and the serial number that came with the game did not work.

All of the things I have looked at point me toward registering the game but I was never prompted to register it when I downloaded the game.

Help?

Also, I do know about Hamachi but I would prefer to use regular internet instead of messing around with it at the moment.
Hey Aviery I also just got the HoMM5 bundle from gog and I think I can help you out.

First you need to keep in mind that gog gives you THREE serial numbers and depending on which game you launch you need to use the correct one.

** The code with HM5 is the original game, H5A is Hammers of Fate and the H5B code is Tribes of the East**

Also I am not sure but I think gog did something odd with this game. Most games on gog don't even bother with cd keys because they are supposed to be DRM Free (Digital Rights Management) however those Serial #'s, aka CD Keys, seems to be an exception and therefore may not work for you if you have already used them on another computer.

It's odd but it doesn't seem that HoMM5 has a direct TCP/IP play options like H3 did, therefore to play with others you need to go through Ubi and therefore need a separate key for each person, UNLESS you play Hotseat or LAN.

THEREFORE if you are trying to play with someone who's code is not working for some reason, we all know why cough cough, and cannot play through the Ubi method then you need to use Hamachi as it creates a LAN for you to bypass the need for the CD Key/Serial #. Follow the link below if you need more info including link to hamachi site.
