I know you have to beat the first three mini-campaigns to unlock the other campaigns. I beat the first two campaigns of Restoration of Erathia today, and they both displayed gold check-marks when I saved the game and quit.

Started up the game to tackle the third mini-campaign and the gold check-marks were gone. The game should know I finished them because I'm on the high score table, but the check is gone.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: Looking around the net, it sounds like you need to load the saved games from the previously won campaigns one at a time to unlock? Dumb...

Unfortunately, yes, you need to load the saved game from a previously won campaign and then start another campaign.

Load the save and continue from there, because the game doesn't have a profile system
I've kept savegames at every stages in the campaigns of Heroes Of Might And Magic III, I uploaded the savegame you need to progress further in your campaign here:

And yes, save your game whenever you complete a mission, and load that save rather than use the campaign button in the main menu.
Wow, thank you for the save game file, that is really helpful!

Thanks for all the responses. I'm still having problems unfortunately. My save game for completing the third mini-campaign only checks off the second two mini-campaigns, as if I didn't finish Long Live the Queen. When I load the save game for completing Long Live the Queen, it un-checks the second two! AHH!!

I guess from now on I'll play the mini-campaigns IN ORDER and save at every scenario, although I'm STILL confused...
As I remember the order doesn't count.

The important thing is that you always have to LOAD a campaing save (except for the first time you start the big campaigns Restoration of Erathia, Armageddon Blade and Shadow of Death).

So, the correct order should be something like this:
New Game >> Campaing >> Restoration of Erathia >> any mini Campaign (let's say Long Live the Queen) >> until your first save.
After that you always do this: Load Game >> Campaing >> Restoration of Erathia >> load the last save game .....until you finish Restoration of Erathia campaign. (mini campaigns will unlock as you finish the first ones).

Only now you can go back to new game:
New Game >> Campaing >> Armageddon's Blade >> an so on....

I hope it helps, must be annoying to replay the same maps.....
Yep, the one and only time you should ever click on New Game -> Campaign is at the very beginning of a global campaign*. Every other time, you should load your savegames, as your savegames record what mini campaigns** you completed so far. Which means it's imperative that you save your game every time you complete a mission or a mini campaign so you can continue the game where you left it.

* There are three global campaigns in Heroes III:
Restoration of Erathia,
Armageddon's Blade,
and Shadow Of Death.
Each contains six or seven mini campaigns.

** There are twenty mini campaigns in Heroes III, each contains around three or four missions. Long Live The Queen, Spoil Of War, Dungeons & Devils are mini campaigns.
Does anyone have a saved game with the campaigns all unlocked in Shadow of Death or Armageddon's Blade?
