Strong race in Heroes 3 - undeath - with great Vampire Lords - lifesteal is just extremly powerfull agaist most opponents except elementals (fenixes and pixies can be lifestealed) - almost every creature has some spell on autoattack, they are imune to morale and some spells, they have necromancy skill which can increase their numbers and also transfer other units into skellies - they are just amazing and I can say strongest race in H3 if well played (or one ow strongest :D )

since at expert necromancy skill you will be getting liches when you kill stuff
(if all your army slots are filled and you have power liches in the heroes army they will be power liches unless you also have normal liches
which can make for a very strong late game

nice, with this artifact necropolis will be unbeatable with tousands of liches in their army :) there come a question what fraction is best counter to necro ? conflux or heaven ?

Necropolis have a tendency to become OP in most HoMM games, it seems. They had to limit the faction with "Dark Energy" points in HoMM5.
I remember this one game from HoMM4 against my buddy who defeated my entire army with vamps alone despite being vastly inferior. Can't wait to try them in HoMM3! ^^

Vamps only regen up to their max number. Kill a bunch and leave the battle, and their numbers go down. Also, perm debuffs like disrupting ray help weaken them. And as mentioned, fighting bloodless targets means they don't regen.

I've actually put down many necromancers with the Dungeon. The Manticores can paralyze undead, and Berserk will destroy your stacks of liches easily. Combo this with 400-500 spell points in combat and you can eventually A.)Out summon with Summon Elemental; B.) Out Resurrect the necro; C.) Implode for the win. I've spent many years conspiring against the necro because it seems like a heavily favored and stupid thing to get thousands of skeletons / liches for free.
