Any maps people can recommend, and why? I never use RMG, I want plot and story in my maps.
Titanic Pride: Episodes I, II, III
Angelic Pride: Episodes IV, V, VI
Devilish Pride: Episodes VII, VIII, IX
by Jason Russell.
Because they are very detailed maps with clever use of skills and items.
Those are good ones, PetrusOctavianus, I was going to suggest them, too.
Here are some more:
Running With The Devil
Lord of Fend
The Lord of War
Shar's War
Ringing of Victory
Fall and Rise of The Sharai
Ungo's Revenge

I'll check those out.

Have you guys played the THUNK campaign by Tim Duncan? I enjoyed it a lot.

Yes, it was pretty good. A bit uneven, but some of the maps were truly epic.

There's also a huge map pack called Heroes of Might and Magic III - 3223 Maps v1.1.exe that should contain all HoMM 3 maps worth playing (and lots not worth playing).
I don't remember from where I downloaded it, but googlinh "3223 maps" brings up some torrent links.

Thank you!
OK, thanx! Now that I've got that site bookmarked, where do I store them? (It shouldn't matter that I'm running this under DOSBox and Linux, but it doesn't seem right to ignore it.)

The folder named Maps in the main HoMM 3 folder sounds like the obvious choice, and is indeed the right choice.
So the game doesn't separate original and user made content.
Thanx! Actually, it's the HoMM2 folder because that's what I'm playing, but that's just a minor detail.
