Does anyone have the latest version of the source code?
Well, I don't know if it's Ok to ressurrect such an old post, but I tried installing the wrappers for my HEROES 1, and the game crashes if I don't let the initial intro go on. Also, I cannot use the filters in the game (it will run normal if I let the initial intro run). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
GOG Galaxy versions are not supported. For all Heroes games.

They are DoxBox builds for H1/2. Wrapper require Windows build. There is no such build for Heroes 1 on GOG as i know. Heroes 2 Win as separate installer (so Heroes 2 is 3(!) differ builds on GOG).
Usually GOG do not provide FULL version and only outdated ripped DOS part of original releases. Heroes 2 are only one exception but only as separate installer (just for few files GOG are dump repackers). Some games bundled with disc images. Cant say all of them are really full valide disc versions. Some games are full on such disc images from GOG.
But Heroes 1 dont have disc images bundled with DosBox version, unfortunatly. There is no heroes_w.exe HeroesGL required.

And DosBox already such Wrapper. It can use OpenGL as render, it is borderless fullscreen windowed as HeroesGL, it have custom resolutions. It didnt support widescreen though. You can force upscaled stretched wide screen by turn off Aspect ratio, but it decrease screen quality and not increase real resolution. HeroesGL same as Heroes3HD+ not perfectly do that, but still they make aepect correct widescreen 16:9.
If you dont need that - default GOG build work normally and look good enough on 4:3.
Well, I've found the files, installed them and everything worked just fine for Heroes 1, 2 and 3 (I don't have H4, tough). The only issue now is that if I try to hurry up things and just skip New World Computing logo and Heroes 1 intro, the game freezes and quit. How do I solve that??? Thanks!

I have found a way to solve the problem: I created a new installer with the GL wrappers already imbeded and installed the game through it. Voilà! If anyone wants to have this problem solved too, just contact me. Thanks!
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete.

So trying to get this to work again on my computer has wasted an hour or so of my time, and to save others I will post what I found out. The original person running this project has taken it offline either intentionally or perhaps necessity. This is due to them being in the Ukraine and the war going on there. Best wishes to them , their friends and family. No one can find mirrors that consistently work most of the ones I tried, were to services no longer running.

The gl wrapper is included in another mod that makes this easier, HOMM3HD which is here

sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd

Install it to the Heroes 3 folder from GOG, and configure the first run to build Heroes3 HD.exe.
Then rename the original and name the new heroes3 hd.exe to Heroes3.exe,
Now, GoG launcher will run the HD version from then on.

I just got this working and it took 2 minutes. To save others' time I'll post what I found out.

Download this. Replace the files in the game directory. Press F4 after the game launches.
Alternatively, open config.ini:
Show Intro=0
Main Game Full Screen=0
To skip intro cinematic and launch in windowed mode.

I have a question though. Does anyone know of a way to set the resolution the game launches at? I know I can drag to rescale the window, but I'd like to set it at exactly 200% of the original size so it looks nice without upscaling.

Real resolution are Desktop since it is Fullscreen Windowed only mode. Should be ingame switcher, or it didnt have for H3? There under Menu by F4. Some of Verok's wrappers have separate scale option. To reduce size.

In any way Keep Aspect ration should be keep On in wrapper itself and in system (every OS/drivers control panels or Display OSD menu or Galaxy and game exes Properties settings aka compatibilities). Widescreen Desktop and in-wrapper widescreen resolution can work only as Zoom-out and only on global map. Any UI remain 4:3 elements or windows.
Just like in HD Mod.

This will be scaled to match Desktop resolution with saving normal aspect. Like 90% of your display. If it is too tiny - something wrong with Wrapper or video driver/display settings. First off make sure Keep Aspect set on qnd try differ resolutions (if there is any in wrapper; do not set too high).

Same for unmodded game. It also should use as much as possible space of your display. If it is tiny window initially - it is system side settings issue. Wrapper or HD mod just increase scale efficency from lets say 75% to 90+% with using sides to make Widescreen. Game initially should be large windows with tiny black bars at top/bottom and a bit larger at left/right.

Without the wrapper the game sets the resolution to 800x600 and launches fullscreen. I don't really care, I'm never going to play this way.

With the wrapper there are interpolation and upscaling options, and I have both set to None as I prefer the crisp pixelated look to the blurry scaling.

But when it comes to size, the options are fullscreen and windowed. The window launches at 800x600 and can be dragged from the corner to resize. That's it. I'd like to launch the game at exactly 1600x1200, so as to make it scale well without applying any filters to it. I know how to lock the aspect ratio, it's just really difficult (practically impossible) to make the window exactly 1600x1200 freehanding it with the mouse.

oh yeah another one. See recent thread nearby? There is solution for Heroes 3 HD+ mod. So first: did you use original Heroes(-3-)GL or its variant bundled with Heroes 3 HD+?
In any there should be ini file or files for settings.

(its still two differ wrapper-mods; HeroesGL did not change gameplay)
